Name of Sponsor: Maria! Communication and Leadership Goals What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a member of Chats Toastmasters? I am learning to have confidence in my speaking skills and writing skills. It is always useful to be able to answer questions in a manner that shows poise and confidence. Is public speaking a requirement of your job or profession? Yes. I have to promote my business to other business and individuals. . How would you describe your current skill level as a speaker? Well, I got through my first manual and am working on my "advanced" manual(s). What I have to remember each and every time I come up with a speech, is what's in it for them. Joel says I'm getting better. Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking? Not really, I just want to be polished. Why did you choose to join Chats Toastmasters? My friend Emily made me go, said I would have fun. She was right! What can Chats Toastmasters do to help you accomplish your goals? The evaluations are like receiving valentines. After each speech I go home, sit on the bed and read each and every one. If I didn't get a good evaluation from my evaluator and everyone else's said differently I usually use the groups opinions. Maybe my evaluator wasn't listening closely. Most times these evaluations are dead on. This group doesn't tell you what you want to hear, they tell you what they heard and how you can improve. This has helped me to be a better speaker. By doing a simple evaluation it helps me be a better speaker. Tell the group anything else that you’d like us to know about you!! I love this group!
