_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Occupation and Employer: Owner/Designer Beautiful Umbrella Accomplishments and Interests: I have received my CC award and am now working on two advanced manuals. I have also served as a member of CHATS Board of Directors. I have accomplished many things in my life so far but being able to speak in public is high on my list of accomplishments.
Personal and Career Goals: My career goal is to have Beautiful Umbrella up and fully running by the fist quarter of 2011! Since it's my company that's also my personal goal. Communication and Leadership Goals What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a member of Chats Toastmasters? One of my biggest objectives in CHATS Toastmasters that I would like to accomplish is to be able to deliver a speech that everyone loves. Something inspirational, funny and profound. Something that is not going to be forgotten once the evaluations are done. Is public speaking a requirement of your job or profession? Yes! I think we should all be able to speak in public, be it at a wedding, on vacation in any public place. That to me is public speaking. Toastmasters can give that to you and much more. . How would you describe your current skill level as a speaker? I have come so far since my first speech a few years ago! I remember the clammy hands, my voice was barely audible and I wanted to cry! But over time and with the support of my fellow Toastmasters I have found my voice. I am funny, kind and informative. My skills still have a long way to go, but I am on the right path. Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking? I am FEARLESS!!! Well, sort of fearless...maybe just a little fear. Okay I am hopeless until I get up in front of the group but because I know my material and I have rehearsed I know I will do a decent job. Why did you choose to join Chats Toastmasters? I was brought to CHATS by a friend. She quit. I stayed. What can Chats Toastmasters do to help you accomplish your goals? CHATS is a family, come and join us. I rarely write a speech, do table topics or the Toastmaster role without contacting a few fellow CHATS members. My speeches are reviewed, rewritten and critiqued before I give them. Even speeches outside of TM's I still do the same. Share and get feedback. Just because I think it's funny or profound doesn't make it true. Tell the group anything else that you’d like us to know about you!! If you want to look forward to Monday's come to CHATS Toastmasters. It is worth your time, effort and money. Plus you will make new friends. . .
