Accomplishments and Interests:
Rebecca has over 14 years of a proven track record in satisfied customer relations and real estate. Her over achieving career began in 1996, after she graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She accepted a job with LaSalle National Bank in Chicago, doing commercial lending in the middle market arena. As much as she loved the hustle and bustle of city life, the winters were a little too much to deal with. She relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, and moved into residential lending with Bank of America, where she became a top representative within her rookie year. Her most recent company was with HSBC, where she achieved #5 in the company out of 500 Account Executives, and was consistently #1 in her office for over 5 years. As an outside sales representative in the lending arena, and having lived in many parts of Phoenix, she has an extensive knowledge and understanding of real estate in The Valley.
More recently, she combined her passion for assisting others, with her lending background, and obtained her real estate license at The Arizona School or Real Estate. In the current marketplace, she is inspired to take her "Life is too short" attitude and go above and beyond for all of her customers.
Personal and Career Goals:
In Rebecca's spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jose, and their 2.5 year old, Aidan. She also enjoys working out, including yoga, running and some gym time. She completed her first marathon in 2003 in San Diego. During the winters, she and Jose like to get a ski trip or 2 in, and are hoping to get Aidan on the slopes in the near future. They are excited to welcome a new addition to the Martinez Family in July of 2011!
What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a member of Chats Toastmasters?
Rebecca hopes to take her entry level public speaking and grow it to a more confident level. This includes thinking quickly on her feet, using close to no notes and confidently portraying her thoughts.
Is public speaking a requirement of your job or profession?
Public speaking is very much a part of being a Real Estate Professional. Maybe not always in a large arena, but you are constanty face to face with customers and interacting in a professional environment. Having clear and concise thoughts is a must.
How would you describe your current skill level as a speaker?
I am fairly comfortable "on stage," as I use to sing quite a bit, but would like to grow my confidence level in public speaking. I would call myself entry level.
Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking?
Yes, yes and yes! I have tremendous fears on public speaking. Through CHATS, I strive to harness those fears and become a strong, confidet speaker.
Why did you choose to join Chats Toastmasters?
My husband, Jose, was a former member. He always boasted about the support, friendship and mentoring that occurred in this group of individuals. It assisted him in taking his public speaking to the next level, and he inspired me to join.
What can Chats Toastmasters do to help you accomplish your goals?
CHATS can push me to grow in my over all confidence of public speaking, thinking on my feet quickly and learning different tricks of the trade.
