Occupation and Employer:
Coordinate development of master planned communities. Employed with Grayhawk Development since September 1994.

Accomplishments and Interests:
My single greatest accomplishment by far is raising my two fabulous sons as a single parent and watching them mature into wonderful, loving and giving young men. Scott is an extremely talented executive pastry chef at Eagle Golf Club/Lodge in Missouri. Neil is an operations manager for a pharmaceutical company in Florida; and is a wonderful husband, stepfather and son-in-law to a loving Cuban family (in laws live with him).
My next greatest accomplishment was catching the BEST second husband in the world. He loves me unconditionally and fixes me breakfast every morning (except when he has an early tee time 2 – 3 x a week.) I graduated with a BSBA two weeks before Neil graduated from high school. in 1993. (We had a joint graduation party.) I received a graduate degree in Urban Planning from ASU in 2001. I love land development – taking raw, desert land and creating a place that people want to call HOME.

Personal and Career Goals:
To be all that I can be so I live my life to the fullest with love and integrity to the glory of God and have a positive influence on others. Focus on balance and harmony in my life and create financial freedom so I can enjoy my family and friends. Continue to grow personally, professionally and spiritually.

Communication and Leadership Goals

What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a member of Chats Toastmasters?
I hope to become a poised, confident, competent and humorous communicator.

Is public speaking a requirement of your job or profession?
Public speaking per se is not required. However, I am required to communicate with various small groups of business/government representatives in the course of fulfilling my professional responsibilities.

How would you describe your current skill level as a speaker?
I need LOTS of help. I am very nervous and unsure of myself. I am uncomfortable with people ‘looking’ at me even in a small group setting. I have difficulty with impromptu speaking.

Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking?
Yes, that’s why I joined Chats.

Why did you choose to join Chats Toastmasters?
Chats creates a compassionate, supportive environment for EVERYONE at any level to feel comfortable in ‘letting themselves go’ to improve their speaking skills. Members have a genuine desire to help and exhibit a HIGH LEVEL of energy in ALL meetings.

What can Chats Toastmasters do to help you accomplish your goals?
Continue to provide opportunities for me to speak in table topics, various functionary roles and as a speaker; provide constructive feedback with specific suggestions on ways to improve my delivery.

What Else?
I am currently stretching out of my comfort zone to learn about real estate investing. My dream is to help those who desire a place to call HOME, but don’t qualify/can’t afford a traditional mortgage. My goal is to acquire single family units in nice neighborhoods and make them available through rentals and/or lease options.
