Occupation and Employer:
MD

Accomplishments and Interests:
My greatest accomplishment/s are my children.  Next is being able to fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a doctor.  I hope my kids can fulfill all of their dreams.

My outside interests include working out, music, learning about what makes the mind tick.  I've just started taking tennis lessons so look for me on a court near you.

Personal and Career Goals:
My goals this year include:creating the optimal environment for my family as far as nutrition, together time, learning and travel.

I'm working through the P-90X program and hope to be in the best shape of my life by the time my 44th birthday rolls around in July.

Some of my career goals include using my iphone to rack up a lot of continuing medical education.  I want to begin doing some medicolegal work as well.

I have an invention rolling around in my head for over a year.  It's time to get it out of my head and into the world.

What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a member of Chats Toastmasters?
I will complete my competent communicator speeches this year and learn from each one.  I learned last week that visual aids need to be visible.  Who knew?

I'm hear to cultivate my leadership, persuasion and inspirational skills.

After 3 speeches now I think it's clear that I can be an engaging speaker.  It's fun to share my interests with the Chats family.

Is public speaking a requirement of your job or profession?

No.  As a doctor it's all one on one speaking.  I could move into a more public role.

.
How would you describe your current skill level as a speaker?
I am definately a beginner.

Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking?
I'm afraid of being judged.  I used to see myself as a boring person.  It's clear now that when I hold back myself and my enthusiasm because I'm afraid of being judged then the audience doesn't get me or what I'm talking about and I may come across as boring.

The key is to let it rip.  Have fun!

Why did you choose to join Chats Toastmasters?
To create a new way of being for myself.  To become a gifted charistmatic speaker.

Oh, also my girlfriend joined first and her enthusiasm was infectious.

What can Chats Toastmasters do to help you accomplish your goals?
Practice Practice Practice.  And the feedback here is second to none.  The members of Toastmasters really care for each other and the feedback is so dead on, unfiltered and delivered in a really supportive way.

Tell the group anything else that you’d like us to know about you!
Let's see I was born and raised here.  I have 3 daughters; Taylor-18, Mikayla-10 and Marcella-9.  I'm a sorta single Dad.  My other dream as a child was to play linebacker in the NFL, rrrrr.  I'm a novice international traveler.  Took my first trip to Paris with Neda in the fall.
