For 31 years I owned and ran SRO Productions in Minneapolis, a concert promotion company. We promoted acts like Andy Williams, Tony Bennett, B.B. King, Peter Paul and Mary, George Winston, Yanni, James Taylor. I sold that business in 2006. I have played the Top 100 Golf Courses in the U.S. (which took me 10 years and cost too much money) . Three years ago I wrote a book about that quest A GOLFERS DREAM: HOW A REGULAR GUY CONQUERED THE GOLF DIGEST LIST OF AMERICAS TOP 100 GOLF COURSES. www.GolfersDreamBook.com Personal and Career Goals: Number one goal-- sell more books (I would be totally remisss if I didn't say that) Communication and Leadership Goals What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a member of Chats Toastmasters? When I was in the concert business I was often asked to speak and always said no. I was scared to death of public speaking. Now I am asked to speak about my quest and to overcome that fear, I joined Toastmasters. I am actually getting to like public speaking. I plan to become an outstanding speaker. How would you describe your current skill level as a speaker? Improving. Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking? Nothing greater than the fact that groups of people are actually listening to me YIKES!!! Why did you choose to join Chats Toastmasters? I chose Chats because it was the closest to the top of the alphabet. What can Chats Toastmasters do to help you accomplish your goals? Can membership in Chats help me lower my golf scores? What else would you like the group to know about you? Tom Friedman and the Coen brothers went to the same high school as I did. St Louis Park High, Mpls MN..As you can tell this school only turns out highly educated successful students. I will try to get Tom Friedman to join Chats, which will be hard since he lives on the East Coast, not to mention the fact that I have only met him a couple times Contrary to popular belief, Milton Berle, "uncle Milty" is not actually my uncle. .
