What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a CHATS member?
CHATS toastmasters is a valued part of my life and continued leaning.  It has provided a safe and nurturing public arena where I can learn and grow as a presenter and humanitarian.  The members of CHATS are my "Peeps", my friends and I plan to continue to listen and learn from their honest guidance, while at the same time adding value to their growth and life experience.

Is public speaking a requirement of your job or profession?
Life is but a presentation!  My daughter and I host our show and write and do the voiceover for our productions.

Describe your current level as a speaker:
It's never too late to rediscover your brilliance!  Life is for living, laughing and learning and all those are accomplished at CHATS toastmasters. I am a Competent Communicator who aspires to go from Good to Great! Thus having more impact with my message.

Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking?
The fear of not being heard or understood.  As the "A.D.D. Member Extraordinaire", I am continuously challenged to keep it simple and stick to a linear thought pattern.  I feel sometimes as though I am stuck in popcorn popper.  Makes for entertaining speeches with a fair bit of eye twitching.

Why did you choose to join CHATS Toastmasters?

I am a TV News Reporter turned proud wife and mother, turned desperate house-wife, turned author, producer and philanthopreneur. I believe it is never too late to rediscover yourself and Rock What you Got!   I found CHATS online to help me achieve that!

What can CHATS Toastmasters do to help you accomplish your goals?
Each week CHATS forces me to stop, focus, listen, breathe, learn, and add value to others.  Success is when preparation meet opportunity!   The best part of all is I get to do all this learning and growing with people I love and trust to mentor me in speaking and in life!  Now that's significant!

What else would you like others to know about you?
Jennifer is married (21 years) to Entrepreneur Phil Carroll, is the mother of Jessica, a student of Broadcast Journalism at Chapman Universities Dodge College and Austin, who plays Junior A Hockey for the British Columbia Hockey League. She has been an active member of Toastmasters International since 2006 and has won numerous speaking awards.   She is an enthusiastic photographer, world traveler, marathoner, snowboarder, wake surfer and philanthropist. She and her family build homes for homeless families in 3rd World countries each year.  www.homesofhopebaja.com
