Occupation and Employer:
: Life Coach/Lifystyle Consultant

Accomplishments and Interests:
My greatest accomplishment as well as my greatest contribution to society is raising my daughter and son as a single parent.  They make me look good to the world.  While raising them I worked full-time and went to school, finally earning my BA Degree in Behavioral Science at the age of 50 while living in Atlanta, GA. I have written and published one book, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO MENOPAUSE and I am currently working on DAILY DO'S FOR A YOUNGER AND HEALTHIER YOU. I became licensed as a massage therapist at the age of 61.  Can you believve I was the oldest in my class?  My three favorite things to do are learning, loving, and laughing.  I love sports, singing, and writing. I am now bulding my business as a life coach after earning my certification from SWIHA. I focus on being the best me for whatever age I am.  Although it seems to get harder each year, I still have a lot of living to do.

Personal and Career Goals:
My goal now is to laugh every day even if it is just at myself.  I want to build a successful practice as a life coach so that I can put my many years of life experience to good use in helping others to reach their goals.  I want to learn something new from everyone I meet and I want to inspire others by example to know you are never to old to learn and grow. After being away from Toastmasters for many years, I hope to regain my speaking skills while making new friends in CHATS.

Communication and Leadership Goals

What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a member of Chats Toastmasters?
I hope to make a valuable contribution as a member once I develop my speaking skills and allow myself to relax and be myself.  I have been so impressed with everyone at CHATS with their speaking ability and their willingness to help one another.  I am open as far as how high of level I am able to achieve.

Is public speaking a requirement of your job or profession?
While public speaking is not a requirement in my profession, it would certainly help me to market my business in a more professional yet personable and friendly manner.

How would you describe your current skill level as a speaker?
Rusty.

Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking?
I think there will always be some fear and maybe that's a good thing.  However, I think the bad fears will fade once I raise my confidence level.

Why did you choose to join Chats Toastmasters?
I have to say that as nervoud as I was, I knew I was "home" when I came to my first CHATS meeting.  It's one of those things you just know.

Tell the group anything else you'd like us to know about you!
For the past year I have been dealing with a health issue that has kept me on somewhat of a roller coaster.  It has been holding me back from jumping in with all fours as I would like to have done.  Although I thought it was resolved when I joined  CHATS, I find I have one more surgery in the near future.  I hope to be whole and well in a matter of weeks.
