Communication and Leadership Goals

What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a member of Chats Toastmasters?
I want to continue my learning, hone my speaking skills, and become a more effective speaker. I would also like to help other members achieve their goals.

Is public speaking a requirement of your job or profession?
Yes! I currently deliver and facilitate business golf workshops and seminars on and off the golf course and speak to a variety of groups.

How would you describe your current skill level as a speaker?
Improving. I think I’m my own worst critic - I see and hear so many things at Chats that I want to incorporate.

Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking?
I want to make sure that I’m connecting with the audience – that they’re following what I’m conveying – that I’ve given them a reason to listen and that they actually do!

Why did you choose to join Chats Toastmasters?
The camaraderie and supportive atmosphere at Chats is amazing. I felt welcome the first meeting I attended. And after winning the coveted “Best Table Topics” at my second meeting as a guest, I felt compelled to join! And then you mix in Joel Weldon’s mentorship – what a gift!
