At the moment I am focusing on how to balance a full-time job with new Motherhood. My long-term goal is to learn more about myself and find a career that can combine my strengths with my values. What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a CHATS member? To become a better communicator and more confident in my ability to connect to the audience. Is public speaking a requirement of your job or profession? Yes, I provide training on a variety of topics throughout the year to 20 – 30 employees. Describe your current level as a speaker: Overall I think I have a basic skill level but I have a lot of bad habits. I need to learn to “get out of my head” and focus on the needs of the audience.

Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking? When responding to questions, not knowing the right thing to say. Why did you choose to join CHATS Toastmasters? The Members! Everyone at Chats has been so great and welcoming. What can CHATS Toastmasters do to help you accomplish your goals? Patience and honest feedback. What else would you like others to know about you? My husband, Mark, and I are expecting our first child, a baby girl, in July 2011. We have been together for over 10 years and will be married 2 years in August 2011.
