_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Occupation and Employer: Relationship Manager for Compass Bank’s Private Client Services Accomplishments and Interests: That I am a functioning adult in society (I know my Mom is happy) and that I actually did not go to trade school per the directions I received from Sister Margaret Mary, my high school counselor. She did not think I could make it through college since I barely made it through high school. Interests: skiing, fly fishing, cooking, world peace, wine, scuba diving, my wife, my kids, BSU football, sleeping, travel, eating, world poverty, spending money and drinking. And depending on what day it is would set the order of my interests. Personal and Career Goals: To have my name come up when Googled. To either own my own business or be head of a company and to beable to retire by the time I am 70. Name of Mentor: Howard Communication and Leadership Goals What objectives do you hope to accomplish as a member of Chats Toastmasters?To become a better speaker and when I speak people will think I know what I am doing. Is public speaking a requirement of your job or profession?Not really. I spend most of my time talking with either the cliet or client and spouse. How would you describe your current skill level as a speaker? On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being Joel, a minus 5. Do you have any specific fears relative to public speaking?Yes. I very much dislike talking in a public setting and drawing attention to myself. And now because of Chats, I fear the Ah counter. Why did you choose to join Chats Toastmasters?My boss made me but now that he has been eliminated Jay makes me go. What can Chats Toastmasters do to help you accomplish your goals?They already have by helping me feel a little more comforable speaking in front of groups. Chats has been great and I will continue to be a member.
